Wow! It's almost been an entire year since I've updated this site. Part of the reason is I've been extremely busy during that time working on Pixar's next feature film, Ratatouille. I'm happy to say that animation on the film is complete and I'm looking forward to seeing it when it's released in theaters on June 29th. Be sure to check it out as I feel it's going to be one of the studio's better films.

As for this site, the only update right now is I've added the list of shots I worked on in Cars to the animation section. I've been meaning to to do this for a while and I finally got around to creating it. I promise it won't take me as long to do the Ratatouille list when the film comes out.

Yes. I know. I haven't updated the site for a long time. I actually considered taking it down because I was failing to update the content regularly. The reason for that is I initially created this site to help me find a job and display my personal work. But now that I've found a job and don't have a great deal of time to develop my own projects, I honestly don't have too much to upload and update other then to announce when the next Pixar feature is being released (and on that note, be sure to check out "Cars" in theaters on June 9th!!). Anyway, since a lot of people still seem to be visiting the site and finding the content helpful, I decided to leave the site up for everyone to enjoy.

Anyway, one bit of news is that I just got back from Copenhagen, Denmark where I taught a two-week introduction to animation course at a school called Truemax. Everything about the experience, from the school to the students to the experience of teaching abroad and visiting Denmark, was absolutely amazing. Everything except the jetlag, that is. Thanks to everyone at Truemax for a really great time and a memorable trip!

I've also been teaching fairly regularly at the online animation school, Animation Mentor. It's a really good program and they get a lot of the top talent in the industry to serve as mentors at the school. Animators from places like Pixar, Disney, Dreamworks, etc. So if you're thinking about becoming an animator and are looking into schools, be sure to check it out.

Now that "The Incredibles" is officially out in theaters, I decided to add a list of my contributions in the animation section. Feel free to check it out if you've already seen the movie. Otherwise, be warned. There are spoilers!

Wow, it's been a long time since I've updated this site. Things have been pretty crazy the past few months which prevented me from making any changes or additions to these pages. To summarize what's been going on: I got married in October, was on vacation in November, survived the holidays in December, and have been madly animating on "The Incredibles." I actually just wrapped on "The Incredibles" and am now getting started on Pixar's next film, "Cars," which will be out in 2005. "The Incredibles" will be released in theaters this November. It should be great!
Anyway, the only news is that I've added a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) area to my website under the "contact me" section. This came about because I've been pretty bad about reading and responding to my email in a timely manner. Sorry to all the people I still haven't gotten back to. Hopefully this will provide answers to some common questions without having to wait several days, weeks, or even months for a response from me. I promise I'll try to do better in the future.

A quick thanks to AnimWatch for profiling my short film, "SOS", on their site. You can read the article and brief interview here .

I added a list of my contributions to "Finding Nemo" in the animation section. Take a look if you're wondering what shots I worked on in the film.

March 4, 2003

I recently finished work on my first feature film, "Finding Nemo." It's scheduled to be released in theaters about two months from now on May 30th. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing it lit, rendered, scored, and on the big screen. Be sure to check it out!
Next up, now that "Finding Nemo" is complete, is Brad Bird's "The Incredibles." The premise of the film is "a family of undercover superheroes, struggling to live a quiet suburban life, is forced into action to save the world." If you go see "Finding Nemo" in theaters, a teaser trailer for "The Incredibles" will be running before the film. Another reason to hit the theaters in May.

Some of you may have noticed that my site was inaccessible the past few weeks. I was in the process of switching web hosts and as a result my site went down. It took a lot longer than expected to make the switch but thankfully, all is well again and my site is back up and running. I want to thank everyone for their patience and for continuing to frequent this site.

OK...I lied in my previous post. I'm NOW more excited than I was before! I just got hired full-time at Pixar as an animator! I'll be working on their next feature film, "Finding Nemo," which is scheduled for theatrical release next year.
I also uploaded the animation tests from my internship at Pixar to the animation section of my webpage. If you're curious about what an animation intern does at Pixar, then take a look.

I'm going to be working at Pixar as an animation intern. I can't say much more except that I couldn't be more excited! Wish me luck.

I just got word that my short film "SOS" has been accepted into the SIGGRAPH 2002 Animation Theater. Take a look at it in the animation section and be sure to catch it in San Antonio.

I just uploaded my short film "SOS" to the animation section. Love it? Hate it? Have an opinion of what I could have done differently or improved upon? Check it out and let me know what you think. My scanner is still out of commission so I'll upload the storyboards and thumbs once I get a new one.

Well, it's time to find a JOB!! I'm officially done with school having completed the MFA program at the Academy of Art College. Although I'm done, there is so much to learn about acting and animation that I feel like I've only just begun! I updated the animation section with my work from last semester. I also added some more artwork to the artwork section of this website. My scanner broke so I'll add more images once I get it up and running again.

I'm starting up my final semester at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco, CA. Just four more months and then it's off to the real world. Even though I've been told the job market is pretty tight at the moment, I honestly can't wait! I'm taking a character animation class as well as finishing up my thesis project. I will be posting my animations in the animation section as I complete them.

I just completed my summer internship at Sony Pictures Imageworks in Culver City, CA. The experience was definitely all that I hoped it would be and then some. I worked with the Digital Character Group on the upcoming films: Harry Potter, Spiderman, and Stuart Little 2. I learned a lot about character animation along the way and best of all, met a lot of great people and made a lot of good friends. I will be posting my short animations of Stuart Little in the animation section so be sure to check back soon!
